The north East Farmers. 95 percent of scots live in Glasgow and Edinburgh because there is nothing in the north except wind, sheep , farmers and bastardised English and also no Jobs. This is brilliant especially for folks like me who are American. I have always understood more than I misunderstood ..although I did not know it was called Doric..I just thought of it as real scottish language. And thinking there are different dialects... I have already leared some new words !! I love it and I love Scotland. You are cool Billy. I am also glad to see you back on YT again... the last I remember you had won some big amount of money or you were hoping that was true.. Now I have more Billy to watch.. Thanks...Maria

'Iday' There's a difference between the Scots language and the English language that needs to be motioned here I think. People need to be aware that the silent 't' sound is not part of 'Today' (English), but the Scots language of the term 'The day'. 'The day' is Scots for 'Today'.
Garr. You should do a vid on the NÉ Doric vocabulary that is very much homophoneistic with the Scandinavians. Most definitely bugger all to do with the English language.

1:14. Doric is from the old Norse/Norn. Gaelic is full of Latin &Irish words. I don’t think the Scots language needs to always submit to the Gaelic. Our East coast language is very old.

2:21. You are missing an important part of the Doric dialect of the Scots language . ‘Fan’ and ‘fin’ are different tenses,that do not exist in the English language.

Doric is the hardest Scots dialect. Maybe cos its further away?
You could well be right. It’s quite a rhythmic dialect and I wonder if that’s the reason people who speak it start talking quite fast, making it difficult for others who can’t quite get the lilt of it yet.
